Meet Your Team:

Matthew Bujaki

president@opseulocal318.ca

Steward and President of the Local
My name is Matthew Bujaki, and I have the honour to be your Local President. I’ve been with the public service since 2012 in multiple rolls, but currently I am an Historical Interpreter, and Historic Weapons Officer at Discovery Harbour.

My duties include overseeing the black powder program with my fellow program colleagues, and assisting in program coordination, and delivery of education programs, but also as the site certified blacksmith I administer all the training and projects associated with that trade.

I have always been an active Union member in any workplace I’ve been in, whether it be with OPSEU, UNIFOR or PSAC. I am here to represent you and help you achieve your goals here in Local 318. My duties as president mean that I chair local meetings and represent us to the wider community. I have an Office at Discovery Harbour, and my door is always open!

Kyle Charlebois

vicepresident@opseulocal318.ca

Steward and Vice President of the Local
Hi there! My name is Kyle Charlebois and I am your Vice President for Local 318. I have been employed with Ontario Parks since 2020. Currently, I am the Maintenance Group Leader at Awenda Provincial Park.

In short, my duties include general maintenance and repair to park infrastructure, as well as supervising both summer student and senior staff. In the past, I have been an active member of both CUPE 3903 and Midland Teamsters.

In addition to my regular steward duties, as Vice President I represent our local in the wider community and co-chair meetings. I’m here for you, and I encourage anyone who may be seeking assistance or answers to any questions to reach out and come forward.

Emily Martens

secretary@opseulocal318.ca

Steward and Secretary of the Local
I’m Emily and I have been with the civil service on and off for the past 15 years. I started at Discovery Harbour as an interpreter in 2012, and moved to Sainte Marie for another 3 years. I moved on from HHP to Parks Canada for a stint where I received my formal historic weapons training in artillery, rifles, and muskets.

I served as one of the seasonal Historical Interpreters and Weapons Officers at Discovery Harbour for 3 years, but have dropped down to an on-call interpreter as of last year as I attend teacher’s college.

In our Local, I serve as the Secretary, which means I am in charge of all the meeting minutes, organizing events and meetings, and ensuring everything runs smoothly. I welcome any questions, and am always ready to help with anything you need. So if you see me on site, please say hi!
